Frank Albert Aragon

U.S. Veteran

Mr. Frank Albert Aragon, 83, of Rocky Ford died on Sunday, April 10th, 2011 while in the company of family members at Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Center - East, LaJunta, CO.

Frank was born in Rocky Ford, CO on November 23, 1927, the son of the late Joe and Virginia Aragon.

He was the widower of Ruth (Magdaleno) Aragon. They were married on January 23, 1953. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2004.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Cpl in WW II. He received the WWII Victory Medal and the Army Occupation Medal Japan.

He retired as a Butcher from Rocky Ford Pet Foods in Rocky Ford. He also worked as a carpenter and as a farm laborer.

He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford.

He is survived by: Daughter Beatrice wife of Andy Nunez of La Junta, CO.; Daughter Lucy wife of Vincent Gallegos of La Junta, CO.; Daughter Virginia wife of Fernando Ulloa of La Junta, CO.; Son Edward Aragon of Rocky Ford, CO.; Son John husband of Christy Aragon of Parker, CO.; Sister Flora Gomez Sister Sally Santistevan Sister Ruth Vasquez Sister Martha Ortiz Sister Patty Perez Sister Mary Ann Olonia Brother Junior Aragon Brother Gilbert Aragon. He is also survived by Grandchildren: Dawn & Bill Danner; Bryan & Christina Aragon; Janelle Aragon; Montanna Aragon; Kaitlyn & Mikayla Ware; Aaron Aragon; Anthony & Jessica Nunez; Amanda Nunez; Andrew Nunez, Jr.; Edward Aragon, Jr.; Vincent Gallegos, Jr.; Chantel Gallegos; Nicole Gallegos; Fernando Ulloa, Jr.; Jason Ulloa. Great-Grandchildren: Kahle & Tristen Collins; Rheianna Rusk; Maddison Aragon; Izabella Aragon; Jalen Aragon; Lexi, Noah & Joe Nunez; Chloe Nunez; Ryanna Ayala; Javen Gallegos; Trinity & Mikey Lopez; Emilliana & Melicia Gallegos; Jaslynn Ulloa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, step-father: Gilbert Ortiz; children: Frank Aragon, Jr. and Anita Aragon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 14th, with Fr. Don Malin officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. A Vigil Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday at St. Peters Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery Rocky Ford.
