U.S. Veteran Alfred Lee Muth, 76, of La Junta, CO, passed away Friday, September 20th, peacefully, at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center-Nursing Center East.

Alfred was born in Rocky Ford, CO on October 17, 1936, a son of the late Martha (Spate) and Friedrich Muth. He attended school in the Grand Valley School District.

He was the husband of Dorothy Louise (DeLong) Muth, they were married on March 22, 1959 in Rocky Ford, CO. He was a hard worker his entire life and was a loving father and faithful husband. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rocky Ford, CO.

In April of 1959 he was drafted to serve in the U.S. Army for 2 years. Upon his return to the Rocky Ford area, Alfred worked as a self-employed Farmer and also worked campaigns at the American Crystal Sugar Factory, was a dealer for DeKalb Seeds and Schaffer Oil. The family relocated to the Swink area in 1975, where he continued to farm until recent years.

He is survived by his wife; Dorothy of the home; Son Dale, husband of Susie Muth, of Swink, CO; Daughter Janet, wife of Leon Golden, of Swink, CO; Brother Richard, husband of Esther Muth, of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Ruth Muth-Grenard, of La Junta, CO; He is also survived by 6 Grandchildren; Jason (Tiffanie) Muth of Cheyenne Wells, Bryan (Rachel) Muth of Greeley, Jeremy (Hannah) Muth of Rocky Ford, CO, Chelsey Muth of Colorado Springs, CO, Jennifer (Tyler) Meis of Colorado Springs, CO, Alisha (Jordan) Johnson of La Junta, CO. 3 Great-Grandchildren; Aliyah, Caden & Jaselyn Muth of Cheyenne Wells, CO; Sisters-in-law; Grace Johnson, Shirley Lacey, Janice Muth, Maxine DeLong; Brother-in-law; Gerald (Shirley) DeLong and Max Grenard; Numerous nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Charles & Selma DeLong; brothers; Albert, Marvin, Robert Muth; brothers-in-law, Charles Delong, Richard (Horsebite) DeLong, sister-in-law; Iris Delong.

Funeral Services will be at the First United Methodist Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 26th, with Rev. Leslie Barnett officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1-5 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO.
